Future development trending of touch screen industry

At iFair Shanghai 2015, many advanced intelligent touch products made a deep impression on audiences.

Actually since smart phones came out, touch industry has experienced very quick development. Human-machine interaction has quickly changed human life. Since then touch screen can be seen everywhere. From smart phones to Pad, it is extended to many touch products in commercial field. Now people’s acceptability and demand of intelligent touch products have reached a new high peak.

Take vending machine as a example, which is the hottest product in exhibition. Compared to traditional shopping mall, it has many advantages.

Even in shopping malls of big cities, they open latest to 10 at night. While for a vending machine, it can open for 24 hours without stop. Combined with quick payment like alipay, wechat, consumers can purchase anything they need at anytime.

Besides vending machines, self-service terminal equipments, outdoor advertising machines, smart courier boxes, these touch products have very broad market in the future. 

HOT SALE of touch products naturally drives the development of touch screen industry quickly. There are 4 kinds of touch screen in market, resistive screen, infrared screen, sound wave screen and capacitive screen, of which capacitive screen includes common capacitive screen and nano touch capacitive screen.

Resistive screen does not support multi touch, with high power consumption and short service life. If it is used for a long time, it will become drifting and needs adjusting. The price of sound wave screen is cheap but anti-interference performance is bad and it needs frequent maintenance. Infrared screen has high light transmittance, with no interference of current, voltage and static. But it has a short service life. Once it is affected by light change and dust accumulation, touch effect will be highly affected. For common capacitive screen, it has size limitation for large sizes and bad waterproof performance. Most importantly, none of above mentioned products is suitable for outdoor use or semi-outdoor use.

From the exhibition, we can see lots of integrators of sound wave screen and resistive screen all turn to nano touch screen. For recent years, nano touch screen has been very popular. Customers do not only pay attention to its pure flat and elegant design, but also the high adaptability with environment. The principle of nano touch products is to install touch foil on tempered glass, which can realize accurate touch without direct contact with outside environment. It also unique features which other touch products do not have, such as waterproof, dustproof, violence resistant.

Besides, with the mass production of nano touch screen in small and medium sizes, the price almost has no difference with infrared screen.
